Presidency, Nigerian Society of Criminology mourns Prof. Odekunle

The sad passing of Prof. Femi Odekunle has garnered a lot of eulogies, especially from Academia. Prof Odekunle was Nigeria’s first Professor of Criminology and a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption. 

The President described the professor as an intellectual giant with impeccable knowledge and that he will be missed by all.

He was also the Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Society of Criminology. The Secretary, Board of Trustees of the Commission, Hauwau Yusuf, in a statement, expressed deep regrets on his passing on behalf of the organization. Read in part below: 

“Until his death, Prof. Odekunle was the Chairman Board of Trustees of Nigerian Society for Criminology. 

“With a heavy heart but with total submission to God Almighty, I announce the passing of Prof. Femi Odekunle (first Professor of Criminology in Nigeria and the Chairman, BOT of NSC) which sad event occurred on Tuesday evening. 

“Our sincere condolences to us all.”
