A Chinese court has reportedly sentenced a journalist identified as Zhang Zhan to four years in confinement for live-streaming the breakout of the COVID-19 virus in Wuhan, China.

Zhan was reportedly charged with provoking troubles and picking quarrels in the initial phases of the virus outbreak. Since her arrest in May, Zhan, a former lawyer, embarked on a hunger strike and has refused to stand trial describing it as an insult.

Due to concerns over her health, she has been force-fed via nasal tubing. She refuses to eat despite pleas by her lawyer and others.
