The Ekiti State Security Network Agency – Amotekun has reportedly rescued a potential kidnap victim along the Isan-Iludun- Ekiti highway in Oye LGA of Ekiti State and is still on the look out for others.
According to the Amotekun Corps Commander within the state, Rtd. Brig Gen Joe Komolafe, the travellers were ambushed and while trying to escape the folly, another set of gunmen shot sporadically at the vehicle causing unrest and leaving the passengers no choice but to disperse into the bush.
Unfortunately some were taken hostage by the gunmen, however, the Amotekun troops were able to get there and are still surveilling the area to ensure the safe return of the rest of the victims.
He further assured that the Amotekun and other Security outfits are working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of the victims.
