A Coalition of Political parties in Kogi State under the umbrella of Inter party Advisory Committee, IPAC has commended the Kogi State Independent Electoral Commission (KSIEC) for the conduct of a peaceful local government election, on December 12, 2020.
Kogi IPAC secretary, Ibrahim Itodo, at a briefing in Lokoja, applauded the commission’s collaboration with security agencies to ensure that the outcome of the election was peaceful.
The Local government election in Kogi state has been won and lost, but some of the challenges that greeted the process, will need to be addressed ahead of future polls
The political parties equally commended the state Governor, Yahaya Bello for opening up the political space for women in the election.
IPAC equally charge the APC, which won all the 21 local government seats and all 239 councillorship positions in the December 12 election, to justify the winning by ensuring that those at the grass roots get the dividend of democracy.
