Covid-19: Kwara Government Declares Partial Curfew, To Enforce Use Of Face mask

As the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 continue to rise in the Country, Kwara State Government has imposed a partial Statewide lockdown in the State to curtail the spread of the virus during and beyond the yuletide season.

Addressing a news conference in Ilorin the Kwara State capital, the Vice -Chairman, Technical Committee on Covid-19 who is also the State Commissioner for Health, Dr Raji Razaq noted that the partial lockdown takes effect from Thursday 24th December 2020 from 12 midnight to 4:30am.

The State Vice – Chairman on Technical Committee on Covid-19, Dr Raji Razaq said a ban has been placed on social gathering till further notice while the religious centers can only function at 50% capacity of their venues.

Razaq also noted that within the period under review, the State civil servants are to work from their various homes while there is exception for the essential workers adding that there will be sanction for offenders.

It would be recalled that Kwara State recorded 33 confirmed cases of Covid-19 last night bringing the total number of confirmed cases in the State to 1,328 and 32 deaths.
