Much to the delight of Nigerian citizens, 344 of the abducted students of the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, have regained their freedom and were escorted to the state capital late last night by security operatives.

The boys who were held hostage by Boko Haram regained their freedom a week from when they were captured from their school hostels.

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari, had announced that all the students will receive proper medical attention before they get reunited with their families.

Renewed hope has also been restored in the government as many had premised that the most recent kidnap will follow a similar pattern with the Dapchi and Chibok School abductions.

The United States Government also congratulated Nigerians on the safe return of the students but advised the Nigerian Government to hold the abductors responsible to the full extent of the law.

Following the abduction of the schoolboys, the President, Muhammadu Buhari, ordered for the reinforcement of security personnel at all schools to dissuade a reoccurrence of what happened.
