Another company has veered into the ride-hailing sector in Lagos state. UNIVASA has reportedly partnered with LSTDCOA – Lagos State Taxi Drivers and Cab Operators Association with the tagline – Baba Dey Online
The move appears to be a move to drive inclusion of the elderly veterans in the profession who have been seemingly phased out with the new tech-savvy companies such as Uber and Bolt.
Eyebrows have been raised as barely a few months back, another somewhat similar app – EkoCab launched to compete with the modern hailing services and was supposed to partner with the same yellow cabs.
The news which may result in some infringement to some extent is not yet clear to all and sundry, however, it appears the state is doing all it can to break into the transportation sector which is fast slipping out of its hands.
It also will drive healthy competition amongst all the players in the sector.
