The President of DR Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, has revealed that a mausoleum will be built to honour Patrice Lumumba, a democratic martyr.
Patrice Lumumba was the first Prime Minister but was jailed and assassinated under the military regime of Mobutu Seko. His remains were later dissolved in acid save a tooth which is due to be returned by June, next year.
A Belgium court ruled that the tooth will be returned to Lumumba’s daughter, Juliana Lumumba.
The mausoleum will coincide with the nation’s 61st anniversary in June 2021.
