Eswatini’s Prime Minister, Ambrose Dlamini has been confirmed dead by the Deputy Prime Minister, Themba Masuki.
The news was met with a mild shock as he was sick with COVID-19 and transferred to South Africa four weeks away, but was reportedly asymptomatic at the time and responded well to treatment.
Before his role as Prime Minister, Dlamini served as the Chief Executive Officer at MTN Eswatini after working in the banking industry as the Managing Director of the Eswatini Nedbank Limited for 18 years.
Ambrose Dlamini is the first world leader to pass away to COVID-19
He was 52 years of age.
