Reactions have started trailing the Bakura bye and supplementary election as the All Progressives Congress, APC, Zamfara State chapter said it will institute a suit against the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to challenge them for not taking into cognizance, the party’s critical role, as a major stakeholder in the exercise.

The Chairman, Publicity Committee of the party, Ibrahim Muhammad, made this known while speaking on the position taken by the APC to address their grievances over the conduct of the Bakura bye-election.

The dust raised on the Bakura State Constituency bye and supplementary election which produced a candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ibrahim Tukur, as the winner, has not settled yet.

This is because, the main opposition, APC is dragging the INEC and the Inspector-General of Police to court, to seek justice over what it described as inhuman treatment, and for allegedly aiding the Zamfara State government to finish a dirty job, which informed the APC to pulling out of the supplementary election.

The party said it had written several letters to the commission, lodging their complaints of large scale violence, intimidation, vote-buying and ballot box snatching, which they expected the INEC and the security agencies to address before going into the supplementary election.

The PDP thanked the people for coming out to vote for their candidate.
