Army halts COAS Conference

The Nigerian Army has discontinued the remaining activities to be featured in the ongoing 2020 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference bid to come to an end at the end of the week.

A statement by Brigadier General Sagir Musa , the Acting Director, Army Public Relations,
the reason behind the sudden cancellation of the annual exercise is due to the resurgence of Covid-19 Pandemic in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

According to him,on Tuesday being 8th December, 2020 ,a participating officer in the this year’s ongoing COAS’ Annual Conference tested positive to Covid-19, which appears to be a second wave of infection cycle. This according to him, informed the decision to immediately discontinue with the remaining activities of the conference.

The Army further mandated all participants to immediately proceed on self isolation in line with the Federal Government’s protocol for Covid-19 and to prevent any further spread of the disease.
