The Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila says the House is waiting for the official communication from President Muhammadu Buhari on the need to address the House over the security situation in the country.
The explanation from the speaker arises from a point of order raised by a lawmaker honorable Solomon Bob on the resolution of the House inviting the president and why that resolution has not been complied with.
There had been speculation that the president is billed to address the joint session of the National assembly this Thursday and the statement by the Attorney General of the Federation said that the House has no constitutional power to invite the president to brief lawmakers on the security challenges facing the country.
