Kaduna State considers lockdown as COVID-19 cases surge

The Kaduna State government says it is considering another round of lockdown, following the upsurge in the number of people infected with COVID-19 in the state.

The Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai made the statements during the signing of the 2021 budget of the state.

He said the government will not take chances, despite reports of COVID-19 vaccines being developed around the world.

El-Rufai said that it is mandatory for every employee of the state government to undergo COVID-19 test.

He also stressed that the state government will also reintroduce the mobile court, to ensure compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.

So far, Kaduna has recorded about 2,778 cases of COVID-19 cases, with 45 deaths.
