Zamfara bye-election inconclusive

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has given a nod at the decision taken by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to declare the Bakura State Constituency Bye-election inconclusive.

The Chairman of the PDP Electoral Committee, Senator Lawali Daniya, made the party’s position regarding the conduct of the bye-election known, while addressing journalists in Gusau, the state capital.

The party said it has no confidence on the Bye-election Chief Returning Officer, Professor Ibrahim Magawata.

It alleged that the Returning Officer said if the election was successfully concluded in the fourteen polling units, APC would have won the election.

He said it is unbecoming of a Returning Officer.

The PDP is asking the INEC to investigate the said statement credited to the Returning Officer, Professor Magawata.

The PDP State Chairman, Tukur Danfulani, appealed to supporters of the party to remain calm and law abiding, as the party is sure of victory in the Bakura State Constituency Bye-election.
