For a second spell in office, the Nigerian Senate has confirmed the nomination of Professor Mahmood Yakubu as the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The Senate Committee on INEC laid the report of the committee on the nomination saying Professor Yakubu is quality and has exhibited non-partisanship in the recent polls conducted by the Commission.
Lawmakers took a turn to commend the INEC boss of innovations brought by the Commission to reduce election rigging and ensure recent polls were free, fair, and credible.
