Maina faints in court

The runaway Abdulrasheed Maina who is currently being tried for money laundering to the tune of 2 billion has been caught in the Niger Republic. 

He was arrested yesterday, on the 30th of November, 2020 in collaboration with the security operatives of the Niger Republic. 

Maina is currently facing trial on 12 counts of money laundering by the EFCC and has been in hiding since September 29th. 

Senator Ali Ndume who stood as surety for him was remanded in prison until recently he was granted bail based on good behaviour. 

Maina served as the Chairman of the now-defunct Pensions Reform Task Force. He was arrested in October 2019 in a hotel where he allegedly tried to escape in a bulletproof car.
