The Federal High Court, Abuja has finally granted bail to Senator Ali Ndume who stood as a surety for Abdulrasheed Maina. Maina who is standing trial on a 12-count charge including money laundering amongst others.
As Maina failed to show up at the court proceedings on November 23rd making it the sixth time, the Borno South Senator was remanded in prison in his stead and his bail set at 500 million Naira.
Justice Okon Abang reportedly granted the senator bail based on his good behaviour despite failed attempts at bail application.
Senator Ndume was mandated to leave his travel documents with the Chief Registrar and file an undertaking with the Court of Appeal within 10 days.
