Femi Gbajabiamila, the Speaker of The House of Representatives has visited the Newspaper sellers and distributors in Abuja over the killing of their colleague identified as Ifeanyi Okereke. Okereke was allegedly killed by one of Gbajabiamila’s security escorts on Thursday, November 19.
Leaders of the distributors and Newspaper sellers revealed that Gbajabiamila has always supported them on the streets of Abuja, But the protest they staged was not against the Speaker, but to seek proper justice for their late colleague Okereke.
The speaker had previously visited the victim family in Kwata Village, Niger state. The incident happened around 3 PM on Thursday in Abuja. The victim was rushed to the National hospital where he eventually passed.
According to reports, Okereke was hit by a straight bullet fired by one of Gbajabiamila escorts as he was trying to clear up a group of people who blocked the convoy. Gbajabiamila later announced that killer security escort is part of the Department of State Services (DSS).
