The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has secured a 14 years imprisonment sentence for Alh. Ahmad Balarabe for defrauding job seekers of 7 million Naira in lieu of securing them employment at the Federal University, Gusau, Zamfara State.
Balarabe initially pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled against him in September 2018 for obtaining by false pretense.
The Judge, Bello Shinkafi concluded that enough evidence has been brought to confirm his culpability and as such Balarabe will be sentenced to 14 years imprisonment with the option of 500,000 Naira in fine.
He also ruled that Balarabe returns the 7 million Naira to the victims he defrauded in the first place.
