7 Reported dead, 45 Injured in Aftermath of Bobi Wine's Arrest

It is no news that Robert Kyagunlanyi (Bobi Wine), the leader of the National Unity Platform was arrested after allegedly flouting election guidelines in containing COVID-19 based on reports from law enforcement in Uganda.

Bobi WIne as he is fondly called is running yet again as a presidential candidate for the upcoming elections against Museveni and other retired Military Veterans.

He is currently held in custody in Jinja alongside Andrew Muwanguzi and five other supporters on grounds of negligent conduct that could lead to the spread of COVID-19.

However, at least 7 people have been confirmed dead, while 45 others have been severely injured in a protest that broke out after his arrest based on reports from a Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga.

This is not the first time Bobi Wine will be facing such resistance, he was also arrest earlier this month, on the 3rd right after registering his candidacy on grounds that he is planning an illegal rally.
