The 2021 FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup has been canceled, as a result of the global pandemic.
The tournament which was originally planned for 2020, was suspended and was fixed for February and March 2021 in India.
In a statement, FIFA said it has been consulting with all stakeholders and host member associations, and confederations to monitor the situations in relation to the coronavirus pandemic, in a bid to curb the impact on the welfare and safety of the players and participants.
The All Indian football federation AIFF further said it will continue to develop women’s football in the country, as they prepare to host the U17 Women’s World Cup in 2022.
