Lebanon returns to Lockdown as Hospitals at maximum capacity

Lebanon has begun a 2-week lockdown effective today as the number of coronavirus cases crossed the 100,000 threshold. People have been cautioned to stay at home and only select few identified with their plate numbers are allowed to commute.

The initial lockdown took place in March and the curfews were lifted gradually in the summer time until August when there was a sudden resurgence killing at least 200 people.

Asides essential businesses and the airports, all others have been shut down. The hospitals have also become overwhelmed with so may cases.

Qatar has also sent two aeroplanes with medical equipment and essentials to Lebanon to help with managing the health crisis.
