Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has presented a budget proposal of one hundred and thirty-three billion Naira (₦133,000,000,000) for the 2021  fiscal year.

During the presentation at the Plateau State House of Assembly, the Governor said the budget is aimed at economic recovery, inclusive growth, and infrastructural development.

Governor Lalong said the negative impact of COVID-19 on the state economy affected the performance of the 2020 budget. He hinted on plans to support businesses with palliative tax relief measures.

The budget of about 133 billion in Naira sees administration and finance having a lion share of over 10 billion Naira while education and health take 6.1 billion and 7  billion Naira respectively.

The presentation was, however, met with mixed reaction as some lawmakers applauded certain sectoral allocations, others, however, lamented poor implementation of previous budgets.

The State Assembly is to deliberate on the budget proposal to enable its passage before the end of the year.
