Catch and Cute children son, Baby Shark, recorded by South Korean company, Pinkfong, gains 7.04 billion views on Youtube, four years after it was uploaded.
While gaining 7.04 views, it beats 2017 hit single ‘Despacito’ by Puerto Rican pop stars, Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee, as the most-watched video on the platform.
The widely infectious and relentless children song first aired on YouTube in June 2016, and it generated a lot of views as it gained the number 32 spot on the Billboard hot 100 charts in January 2019.
The song also gained adult fans over time as the Washington Nationals baseball team used it as an anthem as they went to win World Series in the previous year, resulting in the White House playing the tunes during celebrations.
A coronavirus themed version was also created titled “Wash Your Hands” teaching children about personal hygiene to practice during the pandemic.
In the previous year, South Korean rapper Psy “Gangnam Style” held the title for the most-viewed before Wiz Khalifa’s featuring Charlie Puth “See You Again” took over.
