Following the recent looting of Covid-19 palliatives by some unidentified hoodlums who stormed a warehouse in Ede, Osun State, the state government has reacted to rumours circulating on social media that it deliberately hoarded the items from the people.

Speaking in Ibadan on the allegations, the Secretary to the Osun State Food Palliative Committee said contrary to the information being spread around, the food palliatives do not belong to the government but to the Coalition Against COVID-19, CACOVID.

Bayo Jimoh said the government only provided a warehouse for them to store the food items which was expected to flag-off but stalled because the Abuja team’s promise has not been completed.

He reiterated the state government continued commitment to the good of the people as demonstrated during the first batch of palliatives distribution in April and June this year.

Jimoh urged the good people of the state to be calm hinting that the government has already planned the second batch of palliatives before the END SARS broke out.
