Following an attack on both private and public properties in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, by hoodlums, the Kwara State Governor, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has declared a 24-hour curfew within the Ilorin Metropolis, starting from midnight of Saturday.

Abdulrazaq said the curfew became imperative in view of the criminalities that had taken place within the metropolis in the last few hours, where lives are being threatened, businesses being looted, while public properties have also been targeted.

The Governor also maintained that while the curfew is on, security forces have been placed on the alert to maintain strict compliance, as he urged citizens to comply with the declaration, which is meant to protect lives and property.

It would be recalled that the Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Cargo Terminal of the Ilorin International Airport, and others were attacked last night and valuables worth billions of Naira carted away by hoodlums.
