The Police in Bauchi State have confirmed readiness to deal with any miscreants, political thugs that may attempt to foment trouble in the state’s local government election on Saturday.
The Commissioner, Lawan Jimeta, in his press statement, said adequate security measures have been put in place for all political parties and the electorate towards peaceful elections across the twenty local government areas in the state.
According to the statement, the Command has placed total restrictions on movement of persons and vehicles between midnight hours of Friday, October 16, to 2: 00 pm on Saturday, October 17, except those on essential duties.
The statement said parties in the elections should comply with all COVID-19 protocols.
The statement urged religious leaders, traditional rulers, and youth leaders not to allow themselves to be used in causing a disturbance, stressing that anybody arrested will face the full wrath of the law.
