Organisers of the Vietnam Grand Prix have officially canceled its first-ever formula one, as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
The country’s formula one corporation said the decision was not an easy one, as it had hoped to stage the event in November, after postponing it in April.
However, after postponing most of the championships in 2020 as a result of the pandemic, formula one organizers released a rescheduled calendar in August, without the planned races in Vietnam and China.
They further said the cancellation was imminent, after carefully reviewing the safety criteria as well as the efficiency under the current situation.
The country in the Asian continent has recorded more than 1, 000 coronavirus cases with 35 deaths.
