American professional wrestler, actor, and TV presenter, John Cena, married his girlfriend, Shay Shariatzadeh, months after they publicly declared their relationship.
John and Shay tied the knot in a private ceremony on Monday, October 12, in Tampa, Florida.
While other details surrounding the wedding are still not revealed, Cena and his wife have been confirmed by TMZ.
Marriage speculation between the two began in February 2020, when a wedding ring was spotted on Shay’s finger after being seen at San Diego park.
The couple started their relationship in 2019, after the split between Cena and his ex-fiance, Nikki Bella, in 2018.
According to reports, they both applied for a marriage certificate earlier this month, at the same time Cena posted a tweet indicating marriage plans.
Iranian-born-Canadian citizen, Shay earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of British Columbia and she now works as a Product Manager for Avignon, a Motorola Solutions Company.
Cena was previously married in 2009, to Elizabeth Huberdeau but it came to an end in 2012.
He then began a relationship with a retired wrestler, Nikki Bell, and this lasted for six years before they split.
According to reports, the relationship ended due to the fact that Nikki wanted a family and Cena was not ready for one at that time.
