The Nigerian Air Force has said that due to rising insecurity in Cross River State and its environs, a super puma helicopter is to be deployed to the state permanently for air operations especially around the nation’s Maritimes and economic interest corridors.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, stated this during the Commissioning of 30 by one-bedroom transit accommodation at 305 Mobility Group in Calabar, Thursday.
Represented by the Chief of Policy and Planning at the Air Force Headquarters, Air Vice Marahal Oladapo Amao, the Air Force boss said the surveillance platform will curtail insecurity and criminality around Calabar and its environs.
Sadique charged officers and men of the service to rededicate themselves to their assigned duties as their welfare is of interest to the Federal Government, including accommodation.
Earlier in his remarks, the Commander, 305 Special Mobility Group, Calabar, Group Captain Abraham Sule, thanked the Air Force boss for giving the personnel a befitting accommodation and other infrastructure for optimal performance.
The Chief of Air Staff said the military operation within the guidelines of national policy objectives on security across the country, will be sustained in line with its constitutional mandate.
