Gunmen on Tuesday night kidnapped Uduak Okoro, the wife of the Sun Newspaper Correspondent in Cross River State, Judex Okoro.
She was abducted along Big Qua road near the Apostolic Church within the Calabar Municipal Area Council in the State.
Judex Okoro, who is the Correspondent’s Chapel Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Cross River State, confirmed the kidnap of his wife at about 8:30 pm, Tuesday night.
Cross River Police Commissioner, Abdulkadir Jimoh, who confirmed the development, said an anti-kidnapping team has been deployed immediately after he got information about the incident.
Abdulkadir added that both conventional and plain cloth policemen have been deployed to fish out the kidnappers and get her released unhurt.
The Cross River State Police spokesperson said he was also at the scene of the incident moments after he got wind of it.
