The Federal Government has announced the disbandment of the Federal, Special Anti-Robbery Squad, F-SARS unit of the Nigerian Police Force.
The Inspector General Of Police, Mohammed Adamu made the announcement in Abuja, while addressing newsmen on the update of the government’s decision following its monitoring and assessment of the unit.
Adamu added that following the disbandment, a new policing arrangement, which will deal with offences of armed robbery and other violent crimes will be presented in due course.
This comes after several casualties from continued protests across several states of the Federatio and horrible experiences as chronicled by Nigerians.
