Mats Wilander, former world number one, and seven Grand Slam Singles titles champion has urged everyone to look out for Serena Williams at the French Open, as he has called her the greatest competitor on the tennis court.
Williams who turned 39 over the weekend, quickly gained momentum, after a slow start to beat fellow American Kristie Ahn in straight sets, 7-6 6-0.
The three-time French Open champion, chasing a record equalizing 24 grand slam singles title, recovered brilliantly to win her opening match in impressive fashion despite the weather conditions in Paris.
The Swede Wilander, says the tennis world should look out for Serena as she is not done yet with tennis. The 56-year-old Wilander said the tennis champ may not get to 24 but will be regarded as the greatest tennis player of all-time male or female.
The 2015 French Open champion, will play her 2020 US Open quarter-final opponent Tsvetana Pironkova, in the second round on Wednesday.
