Gbajabiamila holds last minute meeting with labour

House Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila has held a closed-door meeting with the executives of the organised labour as a final attempt to avert the strike scheduled to start tomorrow.

Femi Gbajabiamila explained that it is in the best interest of Nigerians to not go on strike whilst pleading for more time.

Despite a court injunction order, members of the NLC, TUC have remained adamant saying whatever come may, the strike must hold and are ready to be locked up if need be.

Despite offering a list of palliatives, Labour have blatantly refused saying the revised electricity tariffs and removal of fuel subsidy are inconsiderate gestures right in the midst of the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nigerians.

Civil Servants on all levels have expressed their readiness to partake in the strike. The president of the Association of Civil Servants of Nigeria (ASCSN).
