The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and the Trade union Congress, TUC, have remained adamant to the fresh court order obtained by the Federal Government to stop Monday’s nationwide strike and mass protest.

The two labour centres which make up organised labour had said on Thursday that they were not aware of an earlier restraining order by the National Industrial Court of Nigeria obtained by some civil society groups.

While reporters tried to get the labour leaders to react to the fresh court order, it has been gathered that the Federal Government could not serve the order on either the NLC or TUC and has, therefore, resorted to publishing it in the media even without an order for substituted service.

Despite the court orders, the organised labour has continued to mobilise towards getting the Federal Government to reverse the recent hike in electricity tariff and petrol pump price.
