The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has directed for Structural Integrity tests to be carried out on Public and Private School buildings with two-storeys or more.
The directive was announced by the Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako at a press briefing over the weekend. Salako intimated that the move was essential to prevent future occurences of school building collapses within the state.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the process will begin immediately in light of the school resumption directive announced after the long break as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Appropriate guidelines will be shared with the schools that fall within the stated category, the statement read.
