The last two seasons for Juventus has seen them compete without a prolific striker. Despite the presence of Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Gonzalo Higuain, they have failed to progress to the Champions League final.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been burdened with the task of goal scoring for the Bianconeri. He has scored all the knockout goals for Juventus over the past two seasons. However, they have been triumphant in the League as expected.

Nevertheless, the Agnelli family now consider domestic success a norm. There is a desperate need and desire to advance into the upper echelon of great teams in Europe.

It has been 23 years since Juventus last one the UEFA Champions League. They have been to the final 3 times after that but have lost on all occasions.

Recent reports suggest that Juventus are on the verge of sealing a move for Roma captain, Edin Dzeko. A few eyebrows have been concerning the potential acquisition of the 34-year-old.

These reports surfaced after negotiations between Juventus and Barcelona to sign Luis Suarez broke down. El Pistolero as he has been nicknamed also had issues regarding his Italian passport.

Fortunately for the Uruguayan, his wife is an Italian citizen. Hence, the process of applying to be an Italian citizen would be seamless. Rumour has it that Suarez recently completed his Italian language examination to fast track the process.

Ultimately, the decision on the type of striker to sign is up to Andrea Pirlo. The new Juventus manager has made it clear that Juventus need to buy a striker desperately.

A former AC Milan, Juventus, and Italian International, Pirlo has played with great strikers. Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Del Piero and Tevez just to name a few. Pirlo knows the type of striker needed at Juventus.
