Tottenham Hotspur is looking to bolster their roster after a disappointing start to the season. Recent reports suggest that the Spurs and Real Madrid have agreed to a deal in principle to sign Sergio Reguilon.

A product of the Madrid academy, he is currently valued at £27 million. He had a fruitful loan spell with Sevilla which saw him win the Europa League. Some of the biggest clubs then had the 23-year-old on their radar but only Manchester United approached him before Spurs.

Reguilon had a deal with United but the Red Devils could not make a compromise with Real Madrid. However, Spurs have shown a serious intent and fast-tracked the deal with the Spanish giants.

Spurs have also accepted two important clauses proposed in the deal for Reguilon by Madrid. There will be a buy-back clause within the range of £36 to £41 million and a pre-emption clause in case any clubs make an offer for the promising youngster.

Manchester United was not willing to agree to the clauses given by Madrid. Also, Reguilon was interested in moving to Old Trafford but the North London club convinced him to change his mind.

Earlier in the week, they were reports that Manchester United was interested in taking Gareth Bale on loan. Recent reports now state that Tottenham has started negotiations to bring Bale back to the Premier League.

The Welsh Wizard has two years remaining in his Madrid deal contract. The 2019/20 La Liga Champions are also willing to pay the wingers full wages. With manager Zidane, he has fallen out of favour and is out of his first-team plans.
