Limited number of fans will be allowed to return to the stadium for home teams when the German Bundesliga 2020/21 season kicks off this weekend.
However, this will vary due to the different health regulations from different regions, after a six-week testing phase was agreed on Tuesday by German authorities.
The report said German political leaders will allow home stadiums to be at most 20 per cent capacity for 18 clubs, on the grounds that the seven-day rate of infection of the coronavirus is lower than the inhabitants in the local areas.
The statement said spectators must use face masks and must be at least 1 metre apart, while also banning alcohol from the stands.
In mid-May, the German Bundesliga became the first of Europe’s top-flight league, to resume behind closed doors, after the season was halted in March.
Fans were last seen in a stadium on March 8.
