Aston Villa has announced the contract extension of their club captain, Jack Grealish. The England international signed a new deal which will keep him at his boyhood club till 2025.
The 25-year-old is now expected to remain at the club till the age of 30. The Birmingham born midfielder with Irish decent was the subject of discussion earlier in the transfer window. Aston Villa valued Grealish at £80 million.
However, the price tags discouraged suitors from pursuing the play-maker. Grealish made his debut for The Claret and Blue Army at the age of 19 after a successful loan spell at Notts County.
Despite several disciplinary issues, Grealish has bounced back stronger and improved on and off the pitch.
Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United were chasing the midfielder earlier in the year. His creativity, hard work and relentless attitude have earned him the admiration of football fans and critics.
