Russia plans to hold its regional election on Sunday. Voters ballot are being placed in 83regions and in 9000 races. According to a Russian election monitoring group, Golos, this election might possibly be a fake event, the opposition party know as the communists, have not been registered and independent candidates have found it difficult to get on the ballot.
President Vladimir Putin may have lost 20 per cent of his vote and this may be as a result of his recent power rise and also his mismanagement of the global pandemic which has resulted to a stagnant economy and the rise of the anti kremlin protest in the Far East and low approval ratings.
Putin entered the high office in the year 1999, as Russia Prime Minister at the age of 46. Putin rule is said to promote corruption, repression of free speech and military aggression. Russia prominent activist Alexei Navalny posted a picture of himself online with a group of other supporters and his message behind his post is to voters as he urged them to reject lawmakers backed up Putin United Russia party:
“The party in power has a lot of money, but we can only rely on the help of good, honest people,” said Mr Navalny, who emerged from a medically-induced coma in a Berlin hospital on Monday. “Crooks will not expel themselves!”
