The Benue State Security Council has demanded more clarification regarding the unexpected killing of the repentant gang leader, Terwase Akwaza, popularly known as Gana.
Governor Samuel Ortom stated the position of the Council after an expanded meeting with stakeholders from Sankera area of the State.
The Council equally demanded the release of other repentant armed youths arrested by the military in the same operation and also confiscated items including weapons that were to be surrendered at the amnesty deal.
The Benue State Governor had in an interview with reporters accused the army of killing Akwaza while on his way to Makurdi after accepting amnesty.
According to the Governor, Gana was killed on his way to Markurdi, while being conveyed with 42 other repentant criminals.
Mr. Ortom also gave a similar view to reporters on Wednesday, at a banquet hall in Markurdi.
