A Saudi court has now overturned a death sentence ruling over the mysterious murder of Jamal Khashoggi, a journalist who was mysteriously hacked into pieces at the Saudi Arabian embassy in Turkey.

His remains were never seen and he was never seen coming out of the embassy. The Turkish government at the time released video evidence that indeed the journalist was murdered after several attempts by the Gulf country to downplay or dissociate from his disappearance

The 8 individuals involved in the murder of Khashoggi who took the world by shock last year on October 2, have not been identified publicly and are now to serve between seven to twenty years in confinement.

This news comes on the premise that the sons of Khashoggi had reportedly pardoned the people who killed their father. The trial of his murder has been openly criticized by human rights group across the globe.

Khashoggi’s whose last conversation with his abductors were eventually transcribed were caught on audio.
