The Chairman of Shiroro Local Government Council of Niger State, Sulaiman Chukuba, has been questioned for financial recklessness by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences, ICPC, in Abuja.

In a petition written by one of the elders of the Local Government, Awaisu Wana alleged that Chukuba had singlehandedly collected the sum of 50 million naira as a tenement rate from a power company in the local government.

Others also invited for questioning include the Vice-Chairman, Isiyaku Bawa, the Treasurer, Haruna Manta, and the House Leader, Yusuf Aliyu.

The petitioner advised the legislative arm of the council to without delay, suspend the Council Chairman, Sulaiman Chukuba, to allow for proper investigation.

The elder statesman stressed that he will take legal action should the legislators fail to suspend the Council Chairman.

Efforts to get the reaction of the accused Chairman did not yield any results as his phones were not reachable.
