The members of the Coalition for Civil Societies in Osun State have taken to the streets to protest the recent hike in electricity and fuel prices.
With placards, the protesters condemned the price hikes which has now come into effect after it was initially staved off by the National Assembly for the first quarter of 2021.
The electricity tariffs were also hiked by an estimated 100%. the Nigeria Labour Congress have also vowed to resist the increase, while the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria said it could lead to another recession.
11 discos had disclosed late last month of the increased tariffs on the Service based Tariff Structure which went into effect on the 1st of September, 2020.
