Manchester United and AS Roma are edging closer to a deal over the sale of Chris Small from the former to the latter. The 30-year-old had an impressive loan stint with Roma has he registered 3 goals and 2 assists in all competitions.
Most importantly, Smalling was involved in 10 clean sheet results across all competitions during the 2019/20 campaign. He had a decent partnership with Federico Fazio while playing in a back 3 or back 4.
Smalling is surplus to requirements at United under Ole Gunnar Soljskaer. The England international is currently valued at £18 million pounds.
Roma might not be able to meet his exact valuation but will certainly meet the demands of Manchester United.
