The respective House Speakers for both Nigeria and Ghana, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and Rt. Prof Aaron Michael Oquaye has today held a meeting over the recent controversy bordering around the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Act 2013, Act 865.

Nigerian traders in Ghana have been dealt heavy blows with their shops closes and fines levied some amounting up to $1 million as reported.

Although the Ghanaian government debunked all rumours and stated that the actions were not targeted at Nigerians in particular, the issue has generated some level of concern between the two countries.

Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila urged both countries to use legislative diplomacy to resolve their niggling issues. The Ghana Trade Minister, ALan Kyeremanteng shed light on the GIPC Act and further stressed that Nigerians were by no means targeted.
