Indian PM, Narendra Modi dismisses IT Minister, others

Narendra Modi’s official Twitter account for his personal website has been hacked early this morning as confirmed by Twitter.

The compromised Indian Prime Minister’s account asked followers to donate cryptocurrency to the minister’s relief fund. Twitter has however disclosed plans to secure the compromised account.

Bitcoin mining has been plagued in recent times with news of hacking and miners forfeiting their investments. It has also been popular for skyrocketing growth. Incidentally, India’s top court recently ruled in favour of cryptocurrency trading in India.

The account with 2.5 million followers has been created since May 2011. This is the second time the microblogging platform will be compromised by hackers.
