Denmark captain Pernille Harder has joined Chelsea Women from Wolfsburg for a fee to be in excess of 250,000 pounds on a three-year deal, becoming one of the largest ever exchanged in the women’s game.

The 27-year-old forward won four consecutive German league and cup doubles since joining Wolfsburg in 2017.

The Danish international who had one year left on her contract featured in the club’s run to Sunday’s Women’s Champions League final, which they lost 3-1 to Lyon on Sunday in Bilbao Spain.

She joins her lesbian partner, Sweden defender and Chelsea captain, Magdalena Eriksson, who lifted the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
