The Minister of State for Transportation, Sen. Gbemisola Saraki has been appointed as Lead on the Workstream Sub-Committee on African Continental Free Trade Area in preparation for a single continental market for goods and services in Africa.
The Minister, while commending the initiative of the AfCFTA disclosed that Governments are to render service by creating enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
She also mentioned efforts currently underway to ensure that both the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing have dedicated routes for inter-state travels and concessions to facilitate the process.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President and Secretary, Mr Francis Anatogu noted that $650 billion is spent on importation from outside the continent, which amounts to 85% of the total importation.
